After having a teleconference with autodesk and a cloud service provider, it seems that revit is not suited for a cloud environment Anyone find a way to efficiently backup revit server So, who is using revit between offices while at the same time using cloud services for your network needs including email and data storage?
Hi friends, we have been toying with the idea of taking revit to the cloud How is the cost high or manageable with egnyte? Basically we are a traditional revit firm where employees are working 24*7 on revit
Lets keep aside the expense factor for now
(which is hard to ignore 🙂 ) but if technically its not working out, there’s no point. Wanted to see what people currently use / recommend to move revit / design users to the cloud We currently have people using rdp into office machines then work on lan models I am thinking of getting rid of all infrastucture from on prem and going full cloud
This is to enable collaboration as well I think sharepoint will be the way to go for our office documents since we have e3, but revit. We are looking at moving to a cloud file store for all their files, both autocad drawings and office documents I know the main issue is file locks
If two users try to open the same autocad file, it could be a mess
For that reason, i am looking at egnyte, which has automatic file locking, and dropbox business, which has a manual lock feature. Using revit across two office locations I know there’s a better way I have been poking around with a ninjaone trial
There are some nice features, but not seieng much in the way of 3rd party software deployment. Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid clouds, access, security, and control through a single global file system native to the cloud. Thank you for the response so all of your cad files for autocad, revit etc are in egnyte file server or in azure
