Do you all have any funny rate my professor ratings Out of curiosity, i looked at my overall rating from one of these. I just got a funny one
R/professors go to professors r/professors r/professors Although i read every student's anonymous written comment from every course i teach carefully and find these more helpful that the accompanying course rating data from the canned evaluation questions, i can count on the fingers of one hand the times i've looked at my online evaluations on the various professor rating sites How reliable are rate my professor reviews
I've looked through rate my professor and overall i've been hearing mixed opinions on the reliability of the website in terms of the reviews of the professors
Can anyone attest to how credible the site is for determining how good a professor will be? What does “understandable accent” mean What’s understandable to you might not be to others Some of the best professors i’ve had at tech were international with thick accents and idt the burden should be on them to fundamentally change the way they speak if they’re still speaking english
Reply reply mechasteve • reply reply m0ngoose_ • the burden actually should be on them to. So i don’t know what studies your looking at but rate my professor is definitely a useful tool when signing up for classes If a professor has a 2 star rating with a good amount of reviews, that’s definitely a red flag And vice versa, if a professor has and average rating of a 4 you can conclude that he’s okay.
I really liked rong zhang for cap3032 & cap3034, super chill professor and you can tell she’s passionate about her field too
Both classes have fun assignments (especially 3034), a relatively small time commitment, and lectures actually correlate with the projects (one of my biggest pet peeves in classes are when lectures are basically useless when it comes to doing labs/projects). Yes, when i had him almost a decade ago, the guys in my lab agreed after day one to run as much interference as possible to minimize his non instructional interactions Fun outcome, one of the pair of classmates ended up dating for the remainder of their time at utsa and getting married a week after graduation My main girl alessandra balzani, best professor in translation, italian and french (maybe
I know she speaks french but idk if she teaches it) out there I literally have nothing but nice things to say She was the one who helped me find my love for translation and overall the most understanding, nicest and professional professor out there. I couldn’t recommend her more
Easily the best professor at mcgill, hands down
She goes above and beyond in all aspects of teaching—her teaching makes difficult subjects comprehensible and interesting, she truly engages students in discussion, and provides generous help with all coursework She’s in the intd department but i believe she also teaches courses on latin. Janine, suraj, justin and marina Couldnt have asked for better professors during my time at ucsd, all teach extremely well and are very caring/accomodating
Janine once personally went through all the homework submissions during a week, saw a common mistake, made notes for everyone that did it and allowed them to resubmit for the next 2 days.
