A couple of months ago quicken started throwing invalid login errors for my 401k accounts with principal financial. My mortgage is showing as paid in full after a mysterious adjustment was made in the loan register and i can't fix it by editing transactions. I recently received a message that principal financial group now allows transactions to be downloaded from quicken, so i followed the instructions to edit the existing account in quicken and set up online services.
When i try to connect to principal funds using either add account or clicking to activate one step update, i enter my username and password and it connects and recognizes my financial accounts at principal financial and it links them to the same financial accounts inside quicken. So, i hit ok and the next screen has the quicken is having trouble connecting to principal funds I downloaded a.qfx file from principal, but when i try to import it into quicken, i get the following error
Unable to read the selected web connect file
Please contact your financial institution. We have two principal 401 (k) accounts (both spouses) set up in quicken The first is linked online via web connect and works as expected when i download from the principal site (wish they would support direct connect). All of my addition financial accounts, which worked fine yesterday, are now presenting an addition financial requires a password change error.
When i create a gic investment it gets me to enter an investment name, $ amount and maturity date and not much else. I'd like to be able to note the spending categorization for some transfers This may only apply to me but i track accounts for multiple members of my family and when they make a transfer, it doesn't note the purpose of the transfer as a category Similarly if i have a loan that i'm paying that doesn't update online, my transaction will record the principal payment as a transfer, rather than.
I tried clicking on the principal funds name, but nothing happens
