If you can trailer a little ways, olivia/keller bay is always a good bet, and i beleive the lavaca river has had some good catches here lately Water is in great shape considering surrounded bay in lavaca. I have just moved to around weedhaven tx and i water access to carancahuna bay
I was wondering how the fishing is in this bay and what the best way to fish it is Some i have asked this past week have same result I mainly fish the laguna madre and this bay looks like a whole different type of fishing
Any advice and tips is greatly appreciated!
I had been reading the post on greens lake near galveston I was wondering about green lake near seadrift and the victoria barge canal Can you take a boat up in that lake and if so where are the boat ramps Where are boat ramps located for the victoria barge canal
Is green lake fresh water or. There is a public boat ramp on hwy 35 just before you get to cape carancahua They reworked it a couple of years ago and we see people put in there quite often There is also a public ramp at the end of 172 in olivia
Just a couple of options.
You can wade port lavaca bay from magnolia through indianola The marshes around indianola are pretty soft and powderhorn are pretty soft Olivia has decent wade fishing as well, popular kayak launch It think it's like $3 per person.
Tho these boats are different in many ways, i have been doing a lot of research They are also similiar in other ways, one thing that is a big difference is price I have found that the explorer is more expensive and does not carry a warrenty as good as bluewave The bluewave seems to be a good bang for the buck
So i am looking for opinions
Do you think the explorer is worth the extra money. Has anyone used this ramp before Port alto boat ramp n 28â°39.508' w 96â°24.892' looking to fish carancahua bay tomorrow I originally wanted to use the olivia boat ramp and loop around but this one looks like it may a public ramp i can use instead
Carancahua/olivia both bays are good for fishing if you know the right spots As far as boat ramps go, there is a good one in front at olivia Pretty sure there is still one a little ways up the creek at a bait camp (haven't used it in years) As for carancuhua, it has very limited access unless you are willing to run a good ways.
New to this site but wanted some latest information on keller bay near olivia
Fished there a couple of times the last week or so and have had very little success
