What is a good typing speed for people who have plenty of experience So i’m asking myself if it’s really worth it to type faster up to even 120 or more wpm If you google what is a good typing speed, the results seem quite low
Apparently the average typing speed is somewhere around 40wpm As i’m typing faster around 80 wpm, i noticed that it gets harder to remember/think about what i actually just wrote compared to before with like 50 wpm These websites claim that 60 or 80wpm is good.
I’ve been touch typing not too long now and know the average typing speed is ~40 wpm
However, this includes people who are not touch typing nor interested on being on a computer at all Supposedly, the average touch typists’ speed is a little over 50 wpm Lately, i’ve been “competing” on typeracer and some of these dudes are fast af And it had me thinking
What is the average speed. Googling typing speeds shows 60 professional level, 70 above average, and 120 in the top 1% I was typing 60+ wpm 25 years ago Taught myself to be a touch typist while playing a mud
I'm a much better typist now, but i can't be arsed to test it while i'm on a straight keyboard at work.
Whats a good wpm for a programmer Hey so its just a small question but whats conciderd the average or good bracket for wpm typing It depends on your definition In the speed typing community that speed is considered slow, but just in the regular world, the avg speed for adults is 40 wpm, vs in this community it's around 100.
What’s the average wpm do you guys type at 80 wpm is a nice speed as you'll notice that it's easier for you to be more productive than your peers Once you get to 100+ wpm then you'll forget that you're typing and your thoughts will just start appearing on screen as typing will be more of a subconscious activity similarly to how talking happens naturally. Average typing speed where did the 40 wpm average typist typing speed come from
I feel like it's outdated, how can the 100 wpm percentile be 1
All around me are people who type faster than 40, even in this subreddit almost everyone types more than 40. I just saw a statistic that the average typing speed is 40 words per minute but i think it drops down a lot because of boomers I'm just curious to know how fast cs majors type I just took a typing speed test and i type 75 wpm.
Is 100+ wpm typing really worth it or even problematic
