I had a bit of interest in the remington r51 9mm As most here know, it is a remake of an older design, about 1930s i think It is, i understand, an inherently very strong action and remington specifically marketed it as built for constant, not intermittent use of +p ammo But.the first issue was a disaster, parts problems and reliabilitiy.

I really liked the retro styling and the unusual pederson design of the action The gun feels pretty good in hand and has really nice checkering on the front strap, especially given the price point The whole gun is nicely machined with the aluminum lower being. However, i`m confident that most early 42's were reliable, or they would have gone the way of the remington r51
