Unfortunately i cant blame helldivers itself for the bad update system, cuz at the end of the day the game relies on steam's content distribution system (steampipe) which is supposed to make updates more efficient The guide tries to fix one of the worst bottlenecks slow patching caused by steam writing temp files to an hdd instead of an ssd.
This worked for me so i hope it works for you Go to control panel > network and internet > network connections > right click your network and go into properties Find the ipv6 option and uncheck it This option for whatever ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason was the sole issue on why i couldn't connect to friend lobbies

Performance has been up and down for me since launch, but is now worst for me than ever I can't go 30 seconds before getting a full game and pc freeze, once it starts it will freeze for 5 seconds and then unfreeze and repeat every 5 seconds until i restart the game Cpu utilisation goes to 100% and gpu goes to 0% The helldivers in particular are almost entirely from this group
