We are an interdisciplinary lab at the interface of genomics, molecular biology, computational biology, electrical engineering, and technology development James galagan, phd jgalag@bu.edu please reference a current opening below, if appropriate | galagan lab at boston university

Galagan, j., lyubetskaya a., gomes a Uroš is now the ceo of biosens8, a startup dedicated to the development of wearable biosensors that spun off of the lab based on his dissertation work. Current topics in microbiology and immunology

A lack of biosensors fundamentally limits the application of engineering to biology, and impacts society across a range of sectors such as healthcare, biotechnology, drug development, environmental management, consumer technology, and the military

We lead an interdisciplinary collaboration to disco We apply these approaches to studies ranging from basic processes in microbial evolution (mcguire 2012 bmc genomics), the emergence of drug resistance in pathogenic bacteria (galagan 2014, nat gen rev), and the mechanisms of information processing in molecular networks. These efforts include constrained regression model (galagan 2013) and probabilistic frameworks such as module networks (azizi 2014) The frameworks are designed to be flexible in modeling complex regulatory effect while maintaining tractability.
