If that's after encountering kenjaku, it would add more evidence that she might be the rat. From meimei's side, i do believe he was a regular and she enjoyed playing with him, perhaps she enjoyed the regular company and recognition of her skills I don't feel like it was romantic but perhaps she did admire him. I didn't really like mei mei all that much since her introduction but i didn't hate her so i guess i was more neutral on the character but after seeing the scene in the manga i have to say it is kinda sus
