Even with its default settings, orion offers the highest possible privacy protection on the web.and extensions! Orion has a great purpose and i'm really looking forward a stable version but even without considering webextension support, orion is the most buggy piece of software i have when it comes to its core features And it really bothers me but i keep using it regularly to stay updated about its improvements Not as fast as safari, but light on memory usage, webkit powered, webextension.
Orion is based off the webkit open source project This is the same project that safari and (and i think) the kde browser are created with So orion is basically safari with its own interface tweaks and added features One thing about orion is that is has support chromium's web extension api.

It’s got some pretty great features even beyond extension support, so it’s worth looking into Yes orion is safe imo but it still needs work to be a full safari replacement based on my experience with it Orion uses its own keychain vault so it’s independent of the safari one so you need to export your passwords using the system settings / passwords function and import them into orion. I am looking to have a robust browser, with almost no telemetry, strong security, and privacy
